About Us
Welcome! We are the Tau chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon sorority at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Alpha Omega Epsilon is a professional and social sorority composed of female, non-binary, and non-male engineering and technical science students and alumnae from across the globe. Founded on November 13, 1983, the sorority promotes ideals and objectives which further the advancement of unrepresented genders in engineers and technical scientists and builds a foundation for lifelong bonds of sisterhood.

Our colors are Royal Blue, Silver, and White. The AΩE mascot is the Dolphin. Our flowers are white Carnations (Candidates), Roses (Actives), and Calla Lilies (Alumnae).

Our chapter, the Tau chapter, was founded on April 23, 2006 by 30 sisters.
Frequently
Asked
Questions
Q / Who can join Alpha Omega Epsilon?
A / We accept all majors and individuals who do not identify as male. Per RPI policy, first-semester freshmen may not join Greek Life.
Q / Can I be a dual member of Alpha Omega Epsilon and another Greek organization?
A / You can be a member of A.O.E. and a member of Greek honor societies and/or Greek service organizations who are not members of certain councils. You cannot be a member of A.O.E. and another social or professional Greek organization.
Please contact us for a list of ineligible councils and organizations.
Q/ Is there a minimum G.P.A. requirement?
A/ All potential new members are required to have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 in order to be eligible to receive a bid from any Greek Life organization at RPI.
Q/ Does A.O.E. have a house where sisters live?
A/ At the moment, A.O.E. does not have official housing. In past years, we have worked with R.P.I. to secure on campus housing (ex: the same adjacent RAHPS apartments each year). Many sisters choose to live off-campus together as well.
